LIFETIME WARRANTY

"We believe in our jewellery and so should you. We also believe in extending the life cycle of our designs by covering labour costs on all repairs and either free or heavily subsidised fees for any material costs involved on repairs. We believe this makes us a truly sustainable option for those seeking unique and artistic jewellery." - Ruby & Chris Jack

Faulty Items

In the rare event that your item is faulty we will cover all costs including any shipping, customs or import fees.

Depending on the specific item and your location, we will either repair or replace it.

Non-Faulty Items

If your item is not faulty, but you have experienced an accidental breakage and need a repair, or - after lots of wear - you just want to have your item re-plated, our lifetime warranty provides extended coverage by offering subsidised rates for these processes, all done in-house – giving you the same reassurance of quality as when you first purchased.

We will cover the cost of labour and basic materials for any repairs and re-plating, so long as the repair is possible/the materials are available. We will only ever charge you for the following:

  1. Gold re-plating - if your piece needs to be re-plated we will subsidise the cost ourselves and only charge you for a portion of the cost price of the gold. See fees below.

  2. Shipping, customs or import fees - these are to be paid by you.

Please note that items bought in our heavily discounted sample sales are not covered by our lifetime warranty. However, non-subsidised repairs and re-plating can still be arranged.

Gold re-plating fees

All re-plating costs are heavily subsidised by us in order to achieve these low fees for you, our valued customer. These fees are adjustable with the market price of gold.

Ruby Jack Jewellery is artisanal, UK made, artful jewellery and thus desires to be treated with care. To ensure your jewellery stays looking its best, please follow our  care instructions thoroughly. We also provide printed care instructions along with each order.

Features of our jewellery which are not 'faults'

Casting Holes & Makers Marks

Please note that all jewellery that is created through the process of lost wax casting may contain casting holes (small dips and holes). These are a natural part of the process and are unique to each piece. Casting holes are to be embraced and are not in any way a fault in the design. Makers marks and tiny polishing scratches are also not faults and are simply part of the hand made process.

Gold Plating

Our gold plating is of a marvellous quality. We use one of the finest, royal approved services in London. Gold plating will slowly wear over time, although if cared for properly can last several years. We use an indulgently thick plating of 4 microns on rings and 2.5 microns on everything else. Most brands use 0.5 - 1 micron across the board. Vermeil plating (considered the highest industry standard) is 2.5 microns. By using brass as our base metal the process is further slowed. A flash of brass where the gold has worn thin over years is much less noticeable than a flash of silver. We recommend that you visit the jewellery care page to learn how to best maintain your gold plated items. Should your jewellery ever need re-plating, we currently offer this service at cost price to all of our customers. This makes maintaining your item affordable and makes choosing Ruby Jack Jewellery a sustainable option. Please note that we cannot plate anything not made by our studio.

Brass

Brass jewellery will naturally oxidise and darken over time. To keep your brass jewellery looking shiny and golden, please visit our jewellery care page for some helpful tips and tricks. Some people have a mild reaction to brass that can cause irritation, so please take care to ensure the wearer is able to comfortably wear brass. Brass can turn the wearers skin green when worn in close contact and depends entirely on the PH of the wearers skin. We recommend opting for the gold plated product version if this is a reaction you are prone to.
